About Hatu Peak

Hatu peak is the highest peak in the shimla district located in Narkanda. Sourrouded by awesome mountains and covered a dense green blanket of sky, Hatu peak just heaven on earth. The forest is a mixed one. Comparising the varied population of deodar,fir,spruce. The temple dedicated to the wife of ravana-mandodari.

Hatu peak trek is for begineers who really want to start hiking & trekking can go for this trek. I recommend go for this trek in winters so you can wintness of snowfall in month of December.

Day Hike

I started my journey around 12AM from chandigarh and took a bus to Shimla. Around 4:30AM reach Shimla and then took anonther bus to Narkanda. Its too cold in the morning around 7AM i reached Narkanda the temperature -3°c ohh man, Its too cold there and I have to find a hotel for Night stay. Decemeber – January is the season time so its hard to find a room. If you guys planning for Narkanda must prebook a room First. Hopefull we found a hotel and fresh up there and had breakfast. I Started my Trek from Narkanda around 10 AM. I have been there in summers the reason come again here is only SNOW. The trek easy beacuse there is also option vehicles to reach the top so if anybody do not want trekking, can reach on the top with vehicles but I always preffered to trek its just 7 kms (one side) Trek. During heavy snow there is only option of Trek.

I reached Hatu peak around 2 PM and finally heavy snowfall there and cold too. We spend an hour here and then Trek down to Narkanda and reach here around 6 PM. Its a one day Trek can up and down same day. A must go place for everyone and winters are special time do not miss that.
