About Hatu Peak
Hatu peak is the highest peak in the Shimla district located in Narkanda. Surrounded by awesome mountains and covered a dense green blanket of sky, the Hatu peak is just heaven on earth. The forest is a mixed one. Comparing the varied population of deodar, fir, spruce. The temple was dedicated to the wife of Ravana-mandodari.
Hatu peak trek is for beginners who really want to start hiking & trekking can go for this trek. I recommend going for this trek in winter so you can witness snowfall in the month of December.
Day Hike – Hatu Peak (Hateshwari mata mandir)
I started my journey around 12 AM from Chandigarh and took a bus to Shimla. Around 4:30 AM reached Shimla and then took another bus to Narkanda. It’s too cold in the morning around 7 AM I reached Narkanda the temperature -3°c oh man, It’s too cold there and I have to find a hotel for a night stay. December – January is the season time so it’s hard to find a room. If you guys planning for Narkanda must pre-book a room First. Hopefully, we found a hotel and fresh up there and had breakfast. I Started my Trek from Narkanda around 10 AM. I have been there in summers the reason come again here is only SNOW. The trek is easy because there is also an option for vehicles to reach the top so if anybody does not want trekking, can reach the top with vehicles but I always preferred to trek it’s just 7 km (one side) Trek. During heavy snow, there is the only option of Trek.
I reached Hatu peak around 2 PM and finally heavy snowfall there and cold too. We spend an hour here and then Trek down to Narkanda and reach here around 6 PM. It’s a one-day Trek can up and down the same day. A must-go place for everyone and winters are a special time do not miss that.
